Yeah, so, not even close... I did a teardown of the post and clearly state it uses a ball bearing collet system that’s in the same vein as the e13 TRS+. I think the photos in the teardown article and here show clearly that this posts uses said ball bearing collet system. This is a good interface. I guess another post that’s sort of similar (collet) could be the Specialized Command Post but that used a tool steel expanding collet (like an opening bulb). But that would be the closest animal I can think of. The old Crankbrothers post you’re referencing is called the Kronolog. A quick Google search with show you that the only similarity it has is that it’s mechanical rather than hydraulic. The system was not well sealed and the mechanical engagement was not 360-degrees and the post was awful. The Ritchey collet is well supported but another thing to consider is if you even did wear out the collet interface points it’s easy and inexpensive to replace the tube.
