My new move for winter has been wearing a pack, which these days seems like the least cool thing to do. But when I pull out a puffy, spare gloves, toque, lights, etc... Makes me glad I'm not going minimalist like in summer!
Then all the friends that would rather freeze or wear too much then have nowhere to put things because they wouldn't be caught wearing a pack are jealous lol
Edit, also doubling up with nitrile or latex gloves from your first aid kit or whatever is a good way to beef up your gloves in a pinch, I've been putting them on the outside of regular bike gloves in downpours, lose a little grip but dry hands are nice, seen people putting them as the first layer too but haven't tried myself
