I did mine with (black) gorilla tape, and the condition of it looks consistent
with the schwalbe or stans tape after use. Use to do road rims with electrical
tape in s pinch FWIW with no issue 🙂 My rims have issues with the plastic tape
(read: doesn't stick well)
