#!markdown Dave, I thought this week was fun. I feel like half a pariah, half a martyr for my long-lasting and ongoing battle against over-hopped beers. We're kindred spirits. When you can't tell a Pilsner from an IPA, you know hopping has gone too goddamned far. Too far! We did a craft brewer tour several weeks ago. Guess what? Everything tasted like hops. I don't mind hops, but like cilantro, if you add too much it's too much. If you're looking for post ride drink suggestions, I'm kinda digging the Phillips beers lately - their Analogue 78 is a great-drinking summer beer, and the Slipstream and Blue Buck Ales are both moderately hopped and have a nice sweetness. After a particularly hot day of riding at last years Outerbike I had a Whistler Brewing Radler of some kind. That hit the spot pretty good. Also hard to go wrong with a Big Rock Grasshopper on those hot days. If the weather's crappy, I'm not in a beer mood. I rode the Nimby last week and actually gave away my drink ticket (although that might have been short- term hypothermia induced confusion). But really, who wants cold beer when you're soaking wet and it's 3 degrees out? I was desperate for coffee. Maybe you need a coffee column next? Certainly have to be some opinions that.
