I wonder if Öhlins has some patented tech that Tenneco wants. Or possibly certain engineers. I was told that when Salomon bought Arcteryx years ago what they wanted was certain designers and the manufacturing contacts. Often these days it seems that bigger companies buy up the competition to make themselves a bigger comapny or there are mergers solely to make executives richer, not to make a company better.
