Regarding slackening off the tension… I used to think similar but after chatting with a couple of product managers and engineers, I’ve been convinced that loosening spokes has no effect. _Unless_ going far enough that it would no longer be wise to ride the wheels. This seems to be especially the case where carbon is concerned.
