Traditionally an endo is front brake / back end up. Used to pivot , hop on front wheel etc. Back whe in mid-nineties with Hans Rey in his prime and trials skills practised by every rider coz they had a one-bike-do-all-hardtail. A stoppie is like a rolling endo. A front wheel wheelie if you like.  These terms have been misused massively but it’s because very MTBers these days are into their trials riding or even bother practising this stuff.
