As a daily site visitor and someone who works in the auto industry, I enjoyed your mention of Peter Egan’s old R&T column and its impact on you. Being an avid mountain biker (and a former auto racer) too, I can certainly relate to the commitment involved in both endeavors. And while I’ve owned more than a few FS carbon bikes, after moving from the wonderfully-technical riding of the PNW to the flatter Midwest, these days my go-to ride is a steel AM hardtail, and I love it.
