Been running Deathgrips this season on both my bikes in the thin (29.8mm) flangeless and soft compound. FWIW I believe there are 3 compounds in the Deathgrip: hard, soft and race (ultra soft?) which comes in black only. Only used the soft version myself. Awesome grip and profile. Previously used ODI Ruffians, Race Face Snipers and Sensus Disisdaboss.
The lack of a hard end cap is a mixed bag. I like being able to have my fingers/hand at the very edge, but the grip is prone to taking damage if it hits another bike on the roof rack/chairlift or in crashes.
You can get em pretty cheap on the usual online sites when they go on sale, I just ordered a couple spares.
