I have these hubs and got a few skips on the first few rides. I was assured that I got the new pawls made in the USA... they rarely skip not but every couple rides they still do. I'm going to open them up soon to have a look. As you say, this shouldn't be happening with such an expensive hub. My question is this, in the photos, it looks more like grease than oil on the hub. What am I seeing? Is this the "slurry" of Slickoleum and Dumontech that you mention in your review article?
