The Newton’s tread profile _looks_ quite flat/square, but it’s actually rounder than the ST. Current setup \(29x2.6 on a 35mm internal width rim\) is inline with their reccomendations and they provide a good profile. Of course, you could run a narrower rim for a more rounded profile, but the volume could get in the way of stability.
