The ability to provide longer travel 29ers with good trail manners has only improved in the last few years, helped along greatly by the progression of the 1x drivetrain. For manufacturers to be able to achieve this without reintroducing some of the traits that weren't fondly looked upon when 29ers first took off is pretty great. That's what I meant by the kinks comment.
