A tire will act like a balloon if you squeeze one side of it, obviously the air will go elsewhere, thus increase the size of the tire on the opposite side. I had this happen while trying to use a Magic Mary 2.5 (2.4?) on the rear of an old bike I had. It had clearance while just sitting there, but under hard compression, the tire would rub the swingarm brace. My point? Just make sure your tire won't expand enough to strike the arch or you have lots of air in it.
