Good luck with that. Declaring it at the border, as you are legally obligated to do, would result in a 13.2% import duty, plus (in BC) a 5% GST charge.
Canada: CR/DL is $7,999 + GST = $8,398.95
US: CR/DL is $5,999, conversion to CAD = $7,317.04 + 13.2% import duty + GST = $8,697.04
So that's $300 more, plus gas and time to drive down there and back. No thanks, I'll support my local bike shop instead.
