There is a lot of discussion about what the proper term is for these machines. Calling them a mountain bike is disingenuous, and they aren't exactly motorcycles either. They are bikes, and they do have motors though. Seems to me the best term is motorized bicycle. I am sure the manufacturers and proponents won't like this term at all, but it is accurate.
