I picked up a set of TR33's on Nobl Onyx hubs before heading to Moab in June
for my Trek Remedy. Ride Sea to Sky/ Shore rest of the time. I ride pretty
hard and was considering the TR38 but Dustin insisted the TR33 was plenty of
wheel touch as proven by 6 months of racing enduro without a failure for
2.3-2.5 tires. So I put my faith in this former Cdn DH champ and am glad I
did.
The Wheels are incredible. Best upgrade I have ever made to a bike. The wheels
have a nice ride quality but the responsiveness and accuracy of the bike are
the biggest changes I've noticed over the past 20+ rides. The fact that this
is from a rim that is 150g lighter than what I was using is hard to believe
Carbon or not. As for the hubs they are worth the extra money, instant
engagement, less drag and silent. The clutch also makes for a much happier and
quieter drive-train with less chain slap.
Tires have been rock solid down to 15 psi with no burping and way less squirm
(I typically run 2.35s at 23-28lbs but had an issues with a CO2 valve adapter
and lost psi trail-side).
First set of carbon rims I've owned but did ride a pair of Enve AM rims a few
times which got me hooked on carbon. Nobls have frankly been even more
impressive. I also like that I can access the nipples without removing the
tire (although they haven't needed to) and their $1000+ less.
