First off I have to say stick it where the sun don't shine to uncle Dave for suggesting that the Coastal Crew ruined there carriers by putting out a great vid of them riding pedelecs and showing what they can do Bravo. It's not unlike any other video out there and if it wouldn't have had a note that they where on pedelecs none would of been the wiser.
Nat you bring up a very interesting point and one that the industry should look at. Good on you. I could support something like that.
Brente explain how pedelecs could ruin trails? If you believe that they will be racing up to 25km assisted on your local single track you might want to check out your KOM leaders times and speeds! Yes we can agree there is a small electric motor on pedelecs that is only activated when energy is put into it otherwise it don't work. As for your access issues it's all about liability down south and he said she said. OK I might be a little off here but reality says I'm close. You should first off get with industry and see what assistance they can give and hey what Nat was mentioning maybe finding a new classification for them.
I had a go with A.M. on the TLM article. Now Andrew is very pointed that he has no room for pedelecs on trails and for the most part his argument is that it takes away from the real sensation from being out in the forest. He is scared that trails that are hard to get to are going to be over run by e-mtbs. If the trails are that far out only guys that know them are going to be riding them, there is not going to be a huge influx of riders that are going to be hitting those trails. Andrew also mentions issues with pedelecs in the Whistler corridor, well once again check the KOM of those trails and you'll see guys on non assist bikes ripping them (over 25km.)
