I initially thought the same then spoke to a number of wheel builders. None
thought trade-offs of straight pull spokes were worth it. All their personal
wheels were J-Bend and they had owned/build straight pull in the past. Friends
with DT Splines aren't fans, lots of broken spokes and replacements are
expensive and harder to find same with Mavic although their more reliable.
