When I watched it for the first time all those years ago, I was really excited for him and his mother. His dream was so big, larger than life in a way, and at the same time he seemed to be really focused and driven, in a positive way.
The energy of the following seasons as a WC pro was inspirational and catching.
When Stevie passed away it coincided with my life becoming unravelled, now I am back on my feet and have the drive to follow my own biking-related dream of achieving my small goals with a positive attitude, and share the stoke with my little son. Because, to quote Stevie's mother...that is what fathers do.
