I had a fatbike for many years then got a 29+ bike. Kept them both for a year
and then got rid of the fatbike as my true "flotation" missions were few and
far between. The 3″ was better for everything else. If you don't see yourself
riding deep snow or sand regularly get the plus bike. If you do see deep
sand/snow in your future go fat.
If someone suggests get a fatbike with a second plus wheelset check out the
cost as it's often not much different from getting two different bikes. And
you don't need to deal with the fatbikes wide BB when you don't need the uber
big rubber.
