Bikepacking is about efficiency and simplicity. The opposite of this niche
Frankenbike - too many seals, bushings and pivot points to worry about for
true bike packing - suspension is overkill when you're running 25+ lbs heavy
with gear as speeds are much slower. Rigid hardtails (and singlespeeds) are
the preferred setup for Tour Divide (2700 self-supported miles) - not messing
around with leaking shocks and odd tire sizes in 'off-the-grid places'.
Granted, does have a cool paint job.
