#!markdown I caught that tour as well at the DC Cap center (RIP). I recently read Kim Gordon's biography, "Girl in a Band" [https://www.amazon.com/Girl-Band-Memoir- Kim- Gordon/dp/006229590X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484696061&sr=8-1&keywords=girl+in+a+band](https://www.amazon.com /Girl-Band-Memoir-Kim- Gordon/dp/006229590X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484696061&sr=8-1&keywords=girl+in+a+band) and there is a good chapter about their experience with Mr Young. They mutually liked each others music, but Neil's fans weren't ready for SY. Most of the audience responded the same way as you mentioned and Neil admonished the crowd as he took the stage. However my favorite thing of the whole night was seeing SY close with "Expressway to yr Skull" <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP4I_kHmC-Q> Thurston Moore threw himself on top of the first three rows of fans (not likely theirs), guitar banging off heads as tons of noise and feed back raged. My friend and I gave them a standing ovation.
