#!markdown Ha! Most the cockeyed mechanics I know looked that way long before Boost was a twinkle in some Trek Bikes' designers eye. Publishing numbers, like fuel economy, has worked out so well for the automotive industry. I can imagine it now: Published Fuel Economy data on calories per KM. Throw some slicks on your long travel Enduro bike, pump up the suspension until it doesn't move, and give it to your favourite TdF racer. Published distance numbers for stopping. What do horse jockey's do after they retire? Now as long as they can stay under 100lbs we throw the widest tires in the stickiest compounds that will clear in bike-X, throw on some rare - but available - 220mm rotors and BAM. No, too cynical?
