I've actually owned quite a few bikes with the dropper right hand mounted:
A 2×1 setup using a Hammerschmidt that shifted like lightning -- was really
hoping SRAM would keep investing in this tech. I didn't even mind the weight
(nice and low in the frame) but the drag was killer.
A 2×10 setup using a pair of Thumbshifters (DuraAce bar end shifter set to
friction).
The explanation for the configuration in these photos is significantly more
Occan's Razor… It is a single speed. I ran the brakes on a couple bikes
actually through the test period and they're still in use.
