Blame Microsoft for planting the beachead on the "user is the beta tester"
production paradigm, back in the 90s. I've learned the hard way to wait at
least a generation before buying component X, since all the first-gen ones
tend to not have all the bugs ironed out. Plus you avoid the "impuesto al
boludo" as we call it down here ("jerk tax" would be my best translation), by
not buying the overpriced latest and greatest.
