#!markdown I was about to do some pre-emptive upgrades on my current bike so that everything will be interchangeable with the bike I'm about to buy. Then I realized that's exactly what they want me to do. It's already tricky enough to get forks and suspension to work just the way you want so I'm loathe to give something that I already own (that's set up just right) for something new just because it's 3mm wider. And so I'm going to do the exact minimum required to keep my current rig working well until it's ready to die. I used to enjoy buying fancy new stuff and now it's increasingly hard to justify. How about an 11spd cassette that lasts more than a few months and costs <$200??
