Although I am a fan of foregroud objects for depth, I find teh tree kind of overpowering and somewhat like he is heading for a big wall.
Personally I would have liked to have seen the tree on the other side and the rider going away from it rather than riding towards it and closing out the frame.
It's an awesome start though. Now you'll see differently.
