Thanks for this timely review. Just rebuilding the kids' bikes with 9 speed
12-36 cassettes and no clutch derailleur along with 30t RF NW rings so they
still don't have the complication of a front derailleur but a good climbing
gear with their 24″ wheels (smaller wheel size also makes gearing lower). Glad
it's working. This mod should work well in the park for them without dropped
chains, but also allow them to climb a good deal of where we are going -
should make Burke more rideable, as Fromme was all good with the older 32
front, 34 rear low with 24″ wheels.
