Well they have now provided an 11×40 11spd cassette. If you ran that with a
28t front you'd be good to go with an all-Shimano 1×11\. This is my plan when
my current drivetrain needs replacing. Also hoping that they offer the 11spd
rear shifter by itself. CRC already lists the M9000 cassette at $256 which
means it's still cheaper than XX1.
