The Bronson would indeed make my short list. For a permanent collection bike,
however, I'd likely choose a 29er. Oddly enough the Tallboy LT doesn't exhibit
the "rides shorter than the numbers suggest" trait, and that one wouldn't make
my list, personally. A lot of people really like long rear ends, though. These
choices are out there - it's a good time to be into mountain bikes. Lots of
different cake and ways to eat it.
