Sadly, this is true. The commentators weren't put there to bring enjoyment to
the educated sport insiders, but to make Grampa John able to sit and stare to
the TV through the whole feature presentation. This is common practice among
the TV industry. It makes the outsiders feel less stupid by patronizing them.
Take the whole X Games scene for a bigger example.
Now from my gut, I truly hated them. When they went on that diatribe about the
"all carbonz" thing I honestly thought they were joking…
