Not sure if you are serious. At least in europe the large majority of frames
are still alu.
Also no you don't have to compete with components on the mid level. Many
people are willing to pay premium for an alu yeti but it's a premium to the
mid range alu bike cost.
Not to mention you argument would mean that Banshee in Canada, Orange in UK
and Nicolai in Germany are doing something seriously wrong to sell their
bikes.
