Yeti Enduro Short and Turq Wind Jacket
Turq Wind Jacket
There is no item of clothing more important than the one you didn't bring on a particularly challenging ride. Maybe storage was limited or you were running warm, or perhaps you just plain forgot. Yeti's Turq Wind Jacket is an extremely breathable, reasonably water repellent, thin, just incase kind of jacket that saved the day more than once for me this year. While my experience with ultra lightweight top layers have been limited, I have been wearing the Patagonia Dirt Roamer as my clutch jacket for a couple of years now.
This is a lighter, more compact version of what I am used to and that has earned it a seat at the table. As a camera guy who constantly overpacks, I often run out of space or turn my backpack into a boat anchor.
Yeti's Wind Jacket weighs in at 151g (5.3oz) and can easily occupy a tiny corner of your pack, at 6 x 4 x 3" when stuffed but not compressed.
Key Features
- Recycled Nylon Toray 55G/M2 stretch woven fabric blocks wind
- PFC free C0 durable water repellent finish sheds water
- Two-way YKK Vizlon front zipper
- Adjustable hood fits under helmets for additional protection
- Laser perforations under arms for breathability
- Rear stuff pocket for easy storage
- Elastic draw cord at waist
- 100% recycled Nylon shell
I have been carrying and wearing the Yeti Jacket for a few months now. I reach for it on rides when mornings are a little chilly or we are starting with a high-altitude shuttle. It has come in handy on multiple Whistler Top of the World laps. The fabric is soft and quiet. The size medium fits with some room but is not overly spacious. The elastic cuffs slip over the Suunto Vertical Watch with ease. The Green is sharp and on some bikes, the whole thing can easily be stuffed into the downtube storage.

Yeti Enduro Short
Yeti's Enduro Shorts are another low key, well designed and executed item. Building on the previous version with 13" inseam for kneecap length and gap free coverage, Yeti has improved everything. There is plenty of velcro to close up the front of the shorts. I thought this would bother me at first but with the addition of the ratchet strap, everything works really well. For my 31" waist, the size medium has a usable range of adjustment without bunching up.
Key Features
- Recycled Nylon Toray 127G/M2 stretch woven fabric
- PFC free C0 durable water repellent finish sheds water
- Ratchet buckle closure allows for secure dialed in fit
- Two zipper secured angled side pockets
- Rear envelope pocket at waistband for small item/food storage
- Laser perforations on inside legs for breathability
- 13" inseam
- Race Fit: snug while allowing for movement
- 88% recycled Nylon/12% Spandex
I like the dual side pockets on the Enduro Shorts. The zipper closure pockets have a small elastic mesh basket inside to secure important items. This did not exist on previous Yeti shorts and I lost my phone out of my pocket on a work ride (luckily found it).
There is also a waistband envelope pocket that I never ever used but it's good to know I can stash things there if I needed. The fabric is quiet and soft to the touch. Perforations on the inner thighs ventilate well. These shorts quickly became my go to this summer. I must have worn them for over 50 rides with no sign of damage. My Fasthouse kneepads fit well with no gap observed while in the saddle. The #freetheknee crowd will be well served with the 13" inseam.

Down to the little pocket in the back i never use and the little holes pretty much exactly like the Sombrio Highline
but the real reason I'm a Sombrio fan boy is when i try them all on at the LBS the sombrio fit me best which is of course subjective
