Weekend Warmup #213

Riding The Craziest North Shore: A Bucket List MTB Experience - Lewis Buchanan

The algorithm found this one for me and at first I wasn't going to watch it. Lewis' recent antics up in Squamish had some of us feeling a bit squeamish about his motivations and worried that sometime soon his name might make up the wrong part of a headline - one none of us wanted to read. But, Youtube won and I checked it out - ultimately I was curious to see which trails Lew and the crew went to ride on the Shore, at once cringing and hoping he wouldn't be blowing up any local gems. I was pleasantly surprised as they dropped in on Crinkum Crankum - and they were surprised at how technical it was, and seemed happy about it. They proceeded on to Natural High and then to the main event - Imonator. Their stated goal for the day was to ride skinnies, and they sure found them on the lower slopes of Fromme's east flank. It was fun to watch them go from astounded and unbelieving, and then start to work their way through a progression of Imonator's crux section. Buchanan's POV shows how much faster he started hitting sections of the trail on successive attempts.

SQUAMISH RAW: Sights and Sounds With Colby Pringle & Iago Garay in BC - Cannondale Bicycles

Two generations of enduro come together for a short, kinda quaint little riding vid in classic Squamish terrain with no music. Ignore the slightly cheesy dialogue up front and just enjoy - the riding and shots seem to get better and better as the video goes on.

The Obsessive Details of My Custom Uniform - Van Neistat

"A clothing philosophy grows over time like a music philosophy".

Repair culture. Buy good stuff (used or new) and keep it running. This guy knows. Come for a few good tips on rugged, utile clothes, stay for the made in Germany locking snaps on his vintage motorcycle jacket.

Food I Think About When I Think About Cycling - Shimano

Chris Cosentino is a celebrated chef based San Francisco. He moved there because it's an epicentre for foodies - but also because the riding is so good. This is a serene short with captivating shots of Chris at work and at play (cooking and riding) while he narrates and lets us into his thoughts on some of the similarities between his two worlds.

CHIP & DALE - Tomas Lemoine & Edgar Briole

Bert and Ernie, Sonny and Cher, Mario and Luigo...Lemoine and Briole? Thomas and Edgar are a shinning example of the progression, laughs, and good times on bikes that occur when were around one of our best mates. We all have one of those friends don't we? The first person you want to ride with, grab a beer with, or do anything with for that matter because you know damn well it'll be more fun with them than without. Sit back and enjoy Edgar and Briole ripping all kinds of bikes through Les Deux Alpes in France. C'est foux les gars!

ROSSIGNOL | MARCUS GOGUEN - THE RESET: From Freeride Ski Podiums to Mountain Bike Trails

After breaking onto the Freeride World Tour as a Wildcard in 2023, Marcus had a stellar 2024 season, claiming two wins and podium spots. With the 2025 season approaching, Marcus will be gunning for first place in the overall. With that said, he's had success on the bike as well, racing in Crankworx Air DH, and on the Canadian National Downhill Team. In the offseason, Marcus likes to reset on his bike, and take a break from the planks. Living in the Sea to Sky area, and having access to world class riding and skiing on an annual basis really is bliss.
