TRUVATIV Descendant TLD CoLab

Photos Tim Coleman

The bars and cranks are the same structural design as the current Descendant, but the graphics package has been penned by Troy Lee Designs. The new bars and cranks will be available in June.

I lucked out with a near perfect colour match to the red Norco Range

The finish is excellent no matter where you look

The graphical influence is said to be high tech camo, and I think it's really well executed. Par for the course from Troy Lee really. The cranks aren't the only part to get the Troy Lee Designs graphical treatment - so how about some handlebars to match your flashy cranks?

The new blacked out Descendant stem looks great, too.

While the graphical design of the bar and cranks is flashy up close, the designs mesh nicely on the bike when viewed as a whole bike. Just the right amount of flair.

The TRUVATIV Descendant series has proven to be a solid range of parts over the past few years. Both the bars and the cranks are workhorse items in my view, offering stiff, precise and solid performance with a competitive weight and price. I'm looking forward to putting some time in on the new DUB bottom bracket to evaluate its longevity. This release of the Troy Lee Designs CoLab parts adds some fun and flair to what was already a good product. I've always thought bikes were about fun, and should be bright. So I tip my hat to SRAM and Troy Lee for pursuing more graphical collaborations on their products. I think the new stuff looks fantastic, and can't wait to go ride my bike some more with the flashy new bits on it.
