Trail City - The Bikers, Builders and Believers of Duluth

Once an industrial boomtown, Duluth Minnesota underwent a painful downturn during the Rust Belt collapse of the 1970s and 1980s. Fast forward 30 years, and there are green shoots of revival along the shores of Lake Superior. Kyle Ilenda and Spencer Johnson of Level Visuals joined forces with Freehub Magazine to showcase the growth of mountain biking and the impact it's had on the area. 

Duluth, Minnesota is home to a vastly growing number of mountain bike trails. To many, these trails are so much more than paths through the woods. Trail City shows the transformation that has brought mountain biking to the area and the people who ride the trails. Told through five different perspectives, this documentary aims to highlight recent trail building in Duluth. But it is much more than that, Duluth has been going through a period of growth over the last few decades. Accelerated by passionate people, these are the builders, bikers, and believers of the growing biking and outdoor recreation scene in Duluth, MN.
