PRESS RELEASE

The MEGA VOLT Returns!

The MEGA VOLT is back! Year three is scheduled for June 2-4, 2023, based out of the town of Naramata in the South Okanagan. The Three Blind Mice and surrounding trail networks provide the perfect combination of flow and tech on both the ups and downs. Expansive views of the local vineyards and sparkling clear lakes that surround the host community consistently deliver an incredible sensory experience.

You know what it reminded me of, the first mountain bike races in the late 80’s; low-key, grassroots, lots of fun. No one cares who’s first or who’s last. Tons of fun, and just a group of like-minded people gathering and riding bikes.    - Elladee Brown

Get amped, get charged-up and let’s plug into what is quickly becoming ground zero for the eMTB community. The MEGA VOLT, powered by the BC Bike Race, brings together like-minded eMTB people to ride wicked fun trails, have a mind-blowing good time and figure out just what these eMTB’s can do

BCBR22_6_0186_DS

Three days of riding, talking, and sharing ideas, from dealers, to engineers, to pros, and everyone in between. This is how pioneers stay on the cutting edge, and further the industry leading conversation, one weekend at a time.

This years location is in the South Okanagan, hosted at the Naramata Center. The Mega Volt festival is positioned to take full advantage of the Center’s stunning beauty, exceptional offerings, and retreat-style vibe.

Following on the presentations and panel discussions of 2022, this year’s Festival will endeavor to grow the off-bike activities while continuing to focus on all aspects of eMTB.

Dave Vunic - MEGA VOLT

The BCBR MEGA VOLT would like to respectfully acknowledge that this event takes place on the unceded and traditional territory of the Syilx Okanagan people.

Calling e-racers "pioneers" is a bit of a stretch. Call me a luddite but an e-bike "race" is the antithesis of what I think of as a MTB competition. More like a bunch of slackers high fiving and back slapping to justify their bro-peds.

Hey Joseph, let us luddite's unite,

For sure not a 'race', in fact you nailed it "a bunch of slackers high-fiving and back-slapping to justify their bro-peds." what a better way to spend a weekend - if you have a better one please invite me..

Cheers

Agreed! Last years sounded kind of like a golf pro-am event, where a bunch of average e-bike riders paid to hang out with some ex pros and industry types. Pioneers-not!

I always thought that the SPGA would be a good goal, but little did I know that way, way more fun was had at the Pro_Am events -yes this is a 'stupid-industry bro down' - but everyone is invited at least - definitely taking the 'Pioneer' as tongue in cheek, but somebody has to pave the way for the rest of the resistance, eh!!

Cheers and if you wanna come for a sampler day, lemme know

That's exactly what it was. From all accounts, they had a good time though.
