Suntour’s Fork for Kids Who Rip

Most kids’ forks are more for show than anything, but SR Suntour figured they could put together a performance fork for young rippers, so they took advantage of their in-house manufacturing capabilities and created a small run of Axon Werx forks designed for 20-inch wheels. And the result comes with a seriously high end feature list.

Here are a few words from Suntour:

Kids bikes have come a long way since many of our childhoods. In turn kids are pushing harder and progressing faster than ever requiring performance suspension to follow and meet their small stature. SR SUNTOUR’s passion for riding bikes and ability to do what many cannot have produced a 20” suspension fork like no other on the market today.

We took our multiple world cup and London gold winning AXON WERX platform, shrunk it down and tuned it for the groms that want to go hard. It’s light, stiff, easy to tune, easy to service and performs to the same world cup level as its big brothers.

Why? because we could, because it was fun and kids dig it (OK and their bike geek parents maybe dig it even more).

Because the AXON WERX platform has carbon lowers with magnesium dropouts, we were able to make a 20” jig to cut the lowers. Then we shortened the cartridge and created a negative spring for light riders. SR SUNTOUR makes the majority of the parts so we can make small runs in house for these projects. A benefit for sure.

We want to add a special thanks to Spawn Cycles for being a part of this project. A Few of their Kotori bikes with Axon Werx 20” Forks will be on our Demo tour in 2015.
