Ever wonder what it would be like to live the pro mountain biker lifestyle on the Sunshine Coast? An unlimited supply of perfect dirt, easy FSR access to empty trails, beautiful coastline, pristine forests, and if you're into 4-wheeling, lots of chances to test your rig's abilities to get into and out of some remote spots. For a speed-hungry shredder that wants to fill their loam shelf and memory banks, the Sunshine Coast is paradise.

But if you headed over there on your own, would you be able to find the real goods? We've teamed up with our friends at Toyota Pacific to create another Dream Weekend contest. Let Dylan Dunkerton be your Guide as he shows you and a friend around for 48 hours of riding, 4-wheeling, and exploring some of the Sunshine Coast's local secrets. All you have to do is follow this link to enter.

There will be a total of one (1) grand prize available to be won*, including a fully guided weekend experience on the Sunshine Coast with two days of bike riding, 4-wheeling and outdoor adventure, accommodations and meals for two (2) people for two (2) nights, one (1) day pass for two (2) people at Coast Gravity Bike Park. You cover your own transportation here, but we'll help you out with ferry and gas costs from Vancouver. Approximate retail value: $3,820.00 CDN.

Every time I visit the sunshine coast I wish I had more time to explore, seems like there are lots of secret goods to be found out there!

Maybe a bit off topic: in may I rode west Sechelt for the first time in years. It looked to me like there some major conflicts between moto riders and mountain bikers there. Some of the bike trails had some pretty serious visible impacts from motos. I also saw a moto rider ripping around on some of the bike/hike trails in Big Tree. Wonder if there is any efforts to resolve these user conflicts? Anything gaining any traction (terrible pun)? Its pretty tragic to ride down trails I really enjoyed on my last visit that are now extremely damaged.

West Sechelt are my 'home' trails and I wouldn't say the user conflict issue is a big problem. A lot of those trails were originally put in my moto/quad riders many years ago so the other trail users may not know it, but owe a lot to their efforts. There's not a ton of Moto traffic in there and most of it is transitory - there are a lot of great Moto trails higher up the mountain. There's a bit of trail degradation in a few spots but it's few and far between.

The regular Moto riders in there are very careful around other users and respectful in all the experiences I've had. You may have seen someone who wasn't as familiar with the local etiquette. For anyone wanting to check out the West Sechelt trails, it's unlikely you'll even see or hear a motorbike, but don't worry if you do. And don't hesitate to send me a note for trail recos and I'll show you around if I can swing it.

Yeah, believe me, we're bummed too. Our partnership is with Toyota Pacific which is the dealers of BC and the Yukon. If someone wants to put us in touch with some mob-friendly folks at Toyota USA, I'd be happy to take that call...

Thanks for the reply, and happy to hear I was wrong! I did only a ride small section of the network, so sounds like I was just unfortunate in seeing a bit of isolated degradation. It’s always good to hear about the user groups coexisting.

And I will definitely message you for some recommendations next time I’m out!
