Specialized Enduro 29 – Update w/ Geo!
Specialized had a hard time keeping the Enduro 29er under wraps. Rumours had been tossed around for a while, with the general consensus being that the Big S would not delve into 650B and it was inevitable that we’d see a big wheeler bigger than the capable 130mm Stumpy Evo 29. Photos had surfaced over the past month and it was clear that we’d soon find out what was happening behind closed doors.
This morning, the internet caught fire with some imagery that preceded Specialized’s offical release. We jumped at the chance, but now we’ve got some more official data. The raw numbers: 155mm rear travel, 67.5º head angle, 430mm chainstay, three sizes in both aluminum and carbon. Under 28 pounds for an S-Works model.
The Enduro S-Works 29 does exist… relief!
A closer look at the seat tube and linkage. 75º effective seat tube, 69º actual seat post, making room for that 155mm of travel. On the right, the new Command Post IR.
The aluminum Enduro Comp 29 will be the first model available in the near future, with carbon models slated for arrival in late summer.

I love how everything written suggests as a given that shorter chain stays equals the best!!!
Geometry is geometry. It all works together. Sometimes a bit extra length can be a good thing.

Interesting. The numbers are intriguing, and I bet it rides well, but we mere mortals will have to stop and stare as a kitted out S-Works is going to tally up to five digits. That's insane money. Bring on the Comps!
That histogram makes the chainstay differences look at lot more significant than they really are. Meh.

I wonder if they released this early because one of there prototype bikes that Brad Benedict was riding last week got ripped off in Santa Cruz last week.
