Riding the No Fall Zone
Slow tech riding hasn’t been cool for a long time, but you have to be impressed with Johannes Pistrol’s riding whether it’s cool or not.
Johannes Pistrol rides the Steinerne Rinne from Goinger Halt, July 2014. The upper section from the summit down to the upper rinne is relatively straight forward, albeit slightly exposed. The lower section contains the hardest and the most futuristic riding. Johannes didn’t clear all sections but this attempt is the most I have seen ridden so far.

“Been riding blues” by Conway Hambone.
Would you try some of those exposed sections?

How does this guy get normal looking gloves and knee pads. Just mostly black. While I can't find anything that isn't brightly colored and/or logo covered?

Scariest part of this video was the fact he was running Avid brakes…

I guess you haven't ridden Guides, or even XO Trails. Neither have let me down thus far. In fact I've been let down more by other brakes this year than by those made by Avid - and I've used Avid more.

My bike came with Avid Elixir 9's and have been in use for over a year and a half. Not a single issue (except pad replacement twice) and have worked flawlessly, very happy with them. I ride hard mostly steep XC terrain (Bootleg Canyon) several times per week.
