Ride Concepts Unleashes the Vice Shoe

I've only had a pair of Ride Concepts new Vice shoe for a couple of days, but I'm already smitten. At least for casual operations. They are incredibly comfy with nice padding underfoot (maybe the D3O insoles?) and a heel-hugging padded cup that ensures a nice fit without requiring overzealous lacing.

I've stood on the bike but I don't really want these looking like they emerged from a swamp or planet Dune frankly. They are too nice. They felt great on the pedals though so the curiosity will push me over the edge before too long. Hopefully not before the rains of Junuary have subsided.

The gusseted tongue is there but the lace tuck is absent. These shoes are too cool to worry about laces flying about.

I've never noticed this in other Ride Concepts models, but something about the Vice makes it very cushy under foot. I can't see if it's the D3O insole because the others have it as well.

The padded heel cup extends downward generously but isn't too thick. Maximum comfort.

Really what I'd like to be able to do is have one pair for riding and one pair for all the superfluous stuff in life that isn't riding. Hopefully they'll be as durable as the other models I've used while also providing good support and grip. It's interesting that this shoe has a sole pattern that has hexagonal recesses rather than the raised hexagons found on every other RC shoe.

Points for looks and comfort but I'll need some time on the pedals for more info.

The hexagons are smallest under the forefoot for added pedal bite. It all sounds great in theory.
