Qualifying Results: Mont Sainte Anne World Championships 2019

Qualifying in Mont Sainte Anne is done and it was a wild time on the track. B-practice – which for the 2019 World Champs includes all junior men and women, as well as elite women – ran in perfect conditions this morning. But in the 15 minute break between B-practice and A-practice, the heavens slowly opened up. By the time elite men hit the track it was a completely different beast. It was wetter than we've seen here this week but for many of the elite men, it didn't look to phase them at all.

There was a short break from the rain at the end of training but shortly before the first qualifying runs of the day – junior women followed by junior men – it began to rain again. It stuck around this time for the entirety of qualifying but like clockwork, it stopped within minutes of the last rider crossing the finish line. As I write this it's warm and sunny. Mother Nature seems to know when there's a mountain bike race on…
