Peek Inside NF with Travis the Tailor
NF Designs is based in Vancouver and everything they sell is made in-house. They've taken the North Shore by storm and they're ready to grow...if only they could keep their product in stock! If you want in on the action, you can check out NF's current product line here, just don't expect your pants to ship out the day you buy them - they're so hot right now that you have to get into the production queue.
This video, like everything NF does, is a bit different and frankly, it's nice that they avoided all the clichés and syrupy commentary. Travis, by the way, is a good dude - the piss-taking in front of the camera was his version of a Mike Tyson-style interview. Life should be fun, especially where riding is concerned.
Film: Tristan Deggan
Song: Pa Pa Power // Artist Dead Man's Bones

Travis rides on the North Shore...

...then back to the drawing board...

...and back to the shore to test prototypes. Near-freezing with snow, sleet, and rain is the absolute hardest climate to dress for, and you'd better believe Travis is motivated to make stuff that lets him ride in these conditions.

Did you notice the tease? Is Travis working on a NF jacket design?

Hey Travis! I heard rumblings in another article you have some cut to fit inseam wet weather pants. Any plans on bringing that to your regular pants? My 28w 34inseam makes everything that fits in the waist look like capris especially with knee pads and anything that fits in the legs like I'm bringing back lowriding.

7mesh does this currently, but more options that give us long & skinny bastards non-floodpant fit would be brilliant.

Hi, I usually stay outta the comments but Pete emailed me urging me to get some answers. We’ve had a lot of requests for longer inseam length - and have added on a couple inches to stock pants for quite a few local people, and we also send fabric extensions to be sewn on by a local alterations shop to people who can’t make it to the factory. But cutting-to-fit is not an option at this point, as making one offs is almost 10x more time consuming (costly) than bulk cutting and sewing. For spring I think we’ll just make all our pants with a 34” then offer a hemming service if really needed. Stay posted. -Trav

Biggest problem in my mind is: do you go Berzerker orDP3?

I went DP3 because I'm riding in the east and will use these 4 seasons. Just layer up for colder weather. I think the DP3s will be more versatile that way.

I ate it so bad on Burke mtn a few months back. Tore quad muscle from smashing into rocks, hematoma in my leg that wouldn't go away etc. I was wearing NF shorts and you can't see a single scuff mark or anything where the impact happened, absolutely mind blowing.

My Destroyer pants are amazing and Travis was great to deal with when I bought them.
We are lucky that a company making a product that is this good, is right in our own back yard.
NF is setting the bar.
