OneUp Reveals NEW V2 Carbon Handlebars

OneUp Components Announces NEW V2 Carbon Handlebar

Ride More

The new One Up V2 Handle bar is the most advanced carbon fiber handlebar on the market. Our V2 bar gives you industry leading compliance and strength, and it’s up to 33% more vertically compliant than our V1 Handlebar. V2 is available in a new dedicated 760mm width. The 800mm width adds a 50mm rise option alongside the 20 and 35mm rises. All sizes and rises are certified for E-bike and DH use.

More Compliance

Our patented oval design relies on its unique geometry to provide increased vertical compliance. The shape allows the bar to flex exactly how and where we want it to. We refined the oval profile to give you the best balance of compliance, comfort and steering stiffness. This reduces hand fatigue and gives OneUp bars their unique feel.

Updated 800mm Handlebar

The V2 bar’s more pronounced oval section gives you between 13 and 33% more compliance than the V1 Handlebar, depending on width and rise. The updated 800mm V2 Carbon Handlebar is now available in three rises: 20, 35, and 50mm. All OneUp handlebars have 8° backsweep and 5° upsweep.

NEW 760mm Handlebar

When you cut a handlebar it gets less compliant. We wanted to give riders who cut their bars to narrower widths the same vibration-damping characteristics as our full-width 800mm bars.

The new V2 760 Handlebar gives you full-width compliance in a smaller package. It’s 33% more compliant than a V1 bar that’s been cut to 760. The oval section is also narrower than the 800mm bar, leaving more room for your controls.

The 760 is available in 20 and 35mm rise options.

NEW 50mm Rise

We wanted a higher-rise OneUp handlebar. A taller bar makes it easier to ride steep terrain by more equally distributing your weight on the bike. High-rise bars also provide a more upright, comfortable riding position for long rides. The 50mm rise option is available in the 800mm width.

DH and E-Bike certified

The V2 Carbon Handlebar exceeds the Category-5 Gravity EFBE Tri-Test certification and is approved for all riding styles including DH and E-Bikes, in all widths and rises. OneUp Carbon Handlebars are proven on the WC DH circuit and Jackson Goldstone recently won Red Bull Hardline on a OneUp carbon bar.

So happy they finally came out with more backsweep options to match up with anatomical variation!!

Oh wait, another 8 degree backsweep bar for everyone.  Big miss.

This. Make a 50mm rise with 20 degrees backsweep and I'll buy three.

The SQ Labs 30x, 16 degree backsweep, 45mm rise sounds close to what you're after. There's a myriad of 'alt bars' on the market with specifications close to those already. Surly Sunrise, Soma Dream Bar, Hunter Smooth Move, Doom Bikepacker's Delight, Stooge Moto Bar, and the Whiskey Millhouse (carbon), to name a few.

As long as you’re cool with 780. I tried the 12x780 for a while. I loved the 12’ backsweep and did ok with the 780 but in the end I went back to an 800mm wide Salsa Rustler which has 11’ backsweep. Turns out both dimensions are important!

I hope they come out with the 50 rise in aluminum.  I am running their current aluminum bar and it is awesome, just wish it had more rise.

I listened to a podcast or read somewhere that the only reason that Dak runs mega high rise bars is because his bike has super short stack.  I have not measured myself to confirm if this is true.

Here's Dakota's Mondraker Bike Check. Dak's preferences aside, the fact that the industry is starting to embrace taller bars is great. Especially with reach numbers getting so long which places more of your weight over the front end, it's good to see stack numbers start to catch up.

There is definitely a balancing act here.  The slacker movement lengthened wheel bases.  The increase of reach lengthened wheelbase.  The Chain stay growth per size lengthened wheel bases.  Now that everyone is trying to ride steeper trails, we want taller front ends.  If you lengthen the head tube to gain stack, you lengthen the wheel base, yet again.  Many XL bikes in the 160mm  travel range now have wheel bases in excess of 1330mm!

You can run spacers, but that shortens reach and ETT.  So you go to high rise bars, which move your hands farther in front of the front axle, affecting handling and Endo angle.

The next step is to increase BB drop/lower BB height and use lower cranks to gain stack, haha.  Oh, wait, now I smack my chain ring on everything because my breakover angle sucks!

I think it's just the right band-aid for head tubes not really growing proportionally. In a sense, it's cool that the bike designs are such that the tall head tubes aren't needed structurally to withstand huck to flat inelegancies with slacker HTA's, but the downside is that frame manufacturers are then trying to save weight by just running less total material there.
The good news is that bikes now handle well enough climbing that the taller effective bar height over floor works well, and bars are actually a great way to do that.

Me, a large dumb ape: "Why not an 820mm version?"

i picked up the 50mm version of this bar - its quite nice! noticeably better at absorbing trail chatter than my previous 31.8 alu title bar (same rise), but it doesn't register as flex; more like my fork became more supple? good stuff.
