NIMBY Fifty Reg Opens at 4:20…

Date Feb 15, 2013

Possibly BC’s most technically challenging marathon XC race, NIMBY Fifty registration opens today at 4:20 pm – to a nice and round 420 racers. Race day is set for Saturday, May 25th, 2013 and both the base camp location and race course remain the same. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…

Pemberton mayor Jordan Sturdy’s farm lies under the shadow of Mount Currie; you couldn’t find a better place to end a race and hang out for the evening. As a bonus, this year you can camp right on site (YES!). Great food, lots of prizes, and definitely beer. Check out Seb Kemp’s solid recap of the 2012 event with great photos from Todd Hellinga HERE, and Connor Macleod’s everywhere-on-the-course recap vid HERE.

Red Bull will once again be supporting a downhill stage of the event – a race within a race. The male and female competitors with the fastest Red Bull Downtime will each win $250. The overall fastest Red Bull Downtime will also win a team entry to Red Bull Divide and Conquer on Vancouver’s North Shore. For more info, check it out.

Team NSMB will be fielding at least two riders… who’s signing up for the famed BC marathon? Where’s the snow line? What’s your bike of choice? And dare we ask about tires at this point…
