Line Choice: The Trail Less Traveled
Danica Fife, Alicia Leggett, Hannah Bergemann, Linnea Rooke, and Keely Shannon tell their stories of navigating roles and careers in the bike industry. Each woman’s path encounters its own set of struggles such as leaving the safer career option, mental health challenges, sexism, and being brushed off in the workplace.
On September 30, 2022, Alicia crashed while riding, suffering from a traumatic brain injury, she is currently recovering at a brain rehab center in Colorado. To support Alicia on her road to recovery, visit her GoFundMe page here.

Alicia Leggett fell in love with bikes so writing about them made a lot of sense. Her journey has had high highs and low lows but along the way, she found an amazing mental health package, voices, and good people.

Linnea Rooke had to think hard about moving into the bike industry from a corporate role. The risk ended up paying off.

Looking around, Danica Fife didn't see a lot of female role models in the MTB industry so she decided she needed to be her own.

Starting in a bike shop and making gains, Hannah Bergemann found her footing in freeride.

Keely, it is not just dogs and babies you are printing. It is also donuts. I had no idea Ground Keeper was a women owned business, I just know I love the ability to custom make fenders and fork decals for my son and my bikes. It is a fun time we get to spend together being creative. Keep up the good work.

I'm really excited about what Danica and the others here are doing. Each of them is an awesome role model and is living what they love
