Lightfall - A Journey in Photography with Sterling Lorence

Based out of Vancouver, BC, Sterling Lorence’s creative use of light and composition, has made him one of the most iconic mountain bike photographers for over 20 years. If you have ever picked up an MTB magazine or are into mountain bikes of any kind, then you’ve probably seen his work.

Sterl sharpened his skills as a photographer in the coastal mountains of British Columbia, challenged by wet, steep, and gnarly terrain where the shooting conditions are equally as challenging as the riding. It's these challenges in photography that drive his passion to capture new perspectives. Lightfall is the story of Lorence and his process to get the perfect shot in the dank and misty mountains of Vancouver's legendary North Shore, with riders Jackson Goldstone and Brett Rheeder.

So cool to see the Behind-the-scene work that goes into nailing one shot. Awesome work Sterling! I work in the VFX and Broadcast market myself and used to be an Colorist working with DaVinci 2K systems and Telecine Film transfer machines. So I get the time you put into your craft! I miss Bike Mag and all of the wonderful pictures and stories. Keep up the great work!

Always been amazed by Sterling's process, and then obviously the outcome. The production value in these Shimano edits from the last 2 years also has me floored. Good on them for putting so many Sea-to-Sky mtb stories (and other regions too) in such a detailed and positive light.
