Fairly honest review. I wonder if the reason the crappy headset came loose is because the bike shop didn't tighten it enough. Also, lubing the quill stem isn't really necessary to keep the stem tight, it mainly keeps it from rusting into the head tube. I actually think these bikes are a better deal for beginner riders compared to $350 hardtail from Specialized, as long as they are adjusted. The parts on a $350 hardtail are only marginally better than the parts on WalMart bikes. Destroy one of these disposable bikes, then buy a real bike if you like the sport.
