Interview Video
Giant's Aggressive Trance 29 Trail Bike with Kevin Dana
When Giant released the new Trance 29 there was much to discuss; the relationship with DVO during it's development and how that would affect the rest of the Trance 29 range, how they arrived at the short travel, yet aggressive trail bike geometry, and why they spent so much time developing the new bike's suspension.
With this and more in mind, I jumped aboard the Santa Caterina gondola with Senior Global Category Manager, Kevin Dana, and discussed the new bike. Listen in for more and if you would like to read the details and first ride impressions of the new bike, head to the first impressions article.

So when he says that they want short chainstays to keep the wheelbase tight, does he know you ride a Geometron?

Doesn't matter. In a few years Giant will be going for the longest CS and denying they ever believed anything else. ;)

Weren't Giant saying that INCREASED fork offset was the future a couple of years ago? i wonder if it's the same group of test riders who are now saying that DECREASED offset is the best?

Haha. I don't believe so, but what I ride is irrelevant to a product manager. They all have their rationale for why they do x and y.
